This video shares some of my cutest moments from 2017. There will be TWO book launches for Bruce Finds A Home in February 2018 - one in Auckland and one in Dunedin (New Zealand) .
Bruce Finds A Home: Auckland book launch 11am, Sunday 11 February Dorothy Butler Children's Bookshop 1 Jervois Road, Ponsonby Join the event on Facebook. Bruce Finds A Home: Dunedin book launch 10.30am, Saturday 17 February UBS (University Book Shop) 378 Great King Street, North Dunedin Join the event on Facebook. Both events are free, and everyone is welcome to attend. At both launches, free activities for kids will include colouring-in and face-painting. And of course, copies of the book will be signed and pawtographed. Well this is exciting - these are advance copies of the #Brucethecat book Bruce Finds A Home!
Thank you so much to Mary Egan Publishing who have done such a brilliant job on the production, and of course to all our Kickstarter backers - we literally couldn't have done this without you! We're on track to send our books to backers in November as promised. If you didn't pre-order a copy, don't worry - they'll be available for sale through my website a bit later (I'll be sure to let you know when). Thanks for your support everyone! Video music by Bensound.com. It's my birthday coming up on 3 November, and I'll finally be in my terrible twos! Last year I didn't give much advance warning about my birthday which made it a bit hard for those of you who wanted to send cards. So this year I'm being much more organised and giving you four weeks notice!
But the big question is - what should I do for my party? Miaow! I'm purrfectly delighted to announce that my site has been named one of the best 35 cat blogs of 2017 by All About Cats! There are some other pawesome blogs in the list too, so it's worth checking it out. The list features some blogs I've been featured on like Love Meow, Life With Cats and Katzenworld, plus heaps of other blogs that I'm looking forward to reading. Purr! Blog post by Shamintha Kumar, ‘Bruce Finds A Home’ Digital Content Coordinator Bruce the Cat followers are fascinated by the kitten which changed colour from grey to black within a few months. Fever Coat is a condition that occurs when a pregnant cat falls sick due to an infection, or if the cat is stressed during pregnancy. It can also occur when cats are put on medication by their owners without knowing that their pets are pregnant. Fever Coat appears in kittens because the pigments have not been properly deposited in the fur. This causes parts of the fur to appear silver-grey, cream or reddish as a result. Fever coat remains present for up to 6-8months in newborn kittens but eventually fades away. (Bruce’s coat was completely black by the time he was about four months old.) You can see Bruce's transformation in the video below. Want to see other kittens with fever coat? Black Persian kitten with fever coat Litter of kittens with fever coat Ghost stripes on kitten
Happy Queen's Birthday weekend everyone... and a big thank you to my friend Laura, who made this awesome GIF for me.
If you'd like to share this GIF you can try this HTML5 link: https://giphy.com/gifs/3og0IAivrVk0G1Q3jG/html5 Or this GIF link: http://gph.is/2s6ckos When I was a tiny kitten George Takei beamed me up by featuring my story on his Facebook page. I've gone on to become a huge George fan, and today I'm boldly going where no cat has gone before... revealing the top five similarities between George Takei and me, Bruce the Cat. 1. Let's start with the most obvious one. We're both incredibly handsome. 2. We both look great in costume. (The trouble with Tiddles is that I don't really enjoy wearing my one.) 3. We're known for our expressive paws. 4. We're both pleasing in plaid. (Resistance is futile!) 5. And most importantly of all, we both stick up for what we believe in. (One of us is slightly more focused on human rights and the other one is slightly more focused on cat rights. I'll let you try to figure out who is who.) Another similarity between us is that we've both written books! You can find out more about George's books here, and more about my book here and below. I loved the story about me and my book in the Otago Daily Times the other day, and I've been featured on Dunedin's Channel 39 too! If you haven't visited my Kickstarter page yet, you can check it out here. |
